Dr. Moses Appel is the founder of ADO Psychology Center which offers specialized treatment for anxiety, depression, and OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) among other conditions. Dr. Appel is also a Professor of Psychology at Touro University.
Dr. Appel’s treatment philosophy incorporates evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Dr. Appel utilizes a relaxed and flexible approach to therapy which is warm, caring, and collaborative, yet targeted and goal oriented to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Appel received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, Dr. Appel received specialized training in the Anxiety and Depression clinic and in the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) clinic where he treated patients presenting with a broad range of clinical disorders. Dr. Appel has also specialized in treating patients suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) at Columbia University’s Center for OCD and Related Disorders and at My OCD Care. Dr. Appel has also specialized in treating college students presenting with a broad range of symptoms at Zucker Hillside Hospital’s College Program, and at Hofstra University’s college counseling center.
